THE VOLTA BASEL 2026 | JUNE 16 – 21, 2026

Contemporary art is not just a matter of era; it is a matter of perspective. For this 2025 edition of Volta Basel, kg contemporary has chosen to highlight works that challenge our perceptions and testify to the vitality of today's creation.

Our selection for this anniversary year explores the depth of contemporary narratives. Through the masterful canvases of artists such as Emily Kam Kngwarray, Tommy Watson, and Sally Gabori, we present a vision of art where abstraction becomes a universal language, bridging ancestral roots with today’s aesthetic inquiries.

Accompanied by the innovative perspectives of talents like Daniel Walbidi, these artists are redefining the boundaries of the global art scene. Their work does not merely occupy the space; it engages in a direct dialogue with the viewer about identity, memory, and the future.

By establishing ourselves at the heart of the Messeplatz (Hall 4.U), we provide these voices with a setting that reflects their impact. Volta Basel remains our preferred ground for this exploration: a fair that, for 20 years, has prioritized boldness and authentic discovery over conventional models.

We invite you to come and feel this energy and discover a collection that celebrates art at its most vibrant.
